He was a master mariner in 1824 at Charlestown, Cornwall.

In 1825 he was living in the House nearest the harbour, Charlestown.

He lived between 12 Jun 1828 and 17 Jul 1834 at Paul, Cornwall.

He knew when Captain Baker BANKS wrote a letter to his employer respecting his son becoming his successor on 10 Dec 1839.

In 1841 he was living at Charlestown Port, St.Austell, Cornwall with his wife. He was 45 years old and the Harbour Master.

His father's estate was probated on 9 May 1841.

He was a Ship Owner in 1844 at Charlestown, Cornwall and was part owner of the "Pheasant" in 1845 at St Austell, Cornwall.

In 1851 he was living in Charlestown, Cornwall with his wife, 3 daughters and 2 sons. He was 55 years old and an Agent. Also living at the same address was Phillipa Hawkins their House Servant aged 38, unmarried and from St.Austell, Cornwall. Visiting them on the day of the Census was William Tomkin, a widower Gentleman aged 54 from Newlyn, Cornwall.

In 1861 he was living in Charlestown Village, St.Austell, Cornwall with his wife, 2 daughters and 2 sons. He was 65 years old and an Land Agent and Manager of the Charlestown Estate and Harbour. Their General Servant was Elizabeth Trewin, aged 31 from St.Austell.

He died on 5 Jan 1869 at Charlestown, Cornwall, at age 73 and was buried on 9 Jan 1869 at Charlestown.

His estate was probated on 27 Jan 1869.

4 Baker BANKS (1767-1840) [9859]. Born 14 Nov 1767, Dover, Kent. Christened 26 Nov 1767, Dover, Kent. Marr Ann PEARCE 29 Mar 1787, Gorran, Cornwall. Died 7 Feb 1840, Charlestown, St.Austell, Cornwall. Buried 12 Feb 1840, St.Austell, Cornwall.

He went to sea in 1783. He moved to Mevagissey and was Master of a trading vessel in 1786. He married Ann PEARCE on 29 Mar 1787 at Gorran, Cornwall. He was appointed Commander of HM Brig "Louisa" in 1801. He was cruising off the island of Madeira in Nov 1801 at Madiera. He first attended a Methodist Class Meeting after 1802. He moved to Charlestown and was in command of the "Swan", a vessel employed in the coast trade and merchant service in Jan 1802. He was owner of the "Harriet" between 1819 and 1820 at St Austell, Cornwall. He witnessed the marriage of Benjamin CARVOSSO and Deborah BANKS on 5 Oct 1819 at Parish Church, St Austell, Cornwall. He was a witness to the day of departure from Charlestown of Deborah BANKS and Benjamin CARVOSSO on 8 Oct 1819. He was a ship owner in 1823 at Charlestown, Cornwall. He lived in 1825 at No 9 Quay Road, Charlestown. He was a ship owner in 1830 at Charlestown, Cornwall. He wrote a letter to his employer respecting his son becoming his successor on 10 Dec 1839. He died on 7 Feb 1840 at Charlestown, Cornwall, at age 72. He was buried on 12 Feb 1840 at St Austell, Cornwall.
