He knew when Captain Baker BANKS wrote a letter to his employer respecting his son becoming his successor on 10 Dec 1839.

He went to sea in 1783. He moved to Mevagissey and was Master of a trading vessel in 1786. He married Ann PEARCE on 29 Mar 1787 at Gorran, Cornwall. He was appointed Commander of HM Brig "Louisa" in 1801. He was cruising off the island of Madeira in Nov 1801 at Madiera. He first attended a Methodist Class Meeting after 1802. He moved to Charlestown and was in command of the "Swan", a vessel employed in the coast trade and merchant service in Jan 1802. He was owner of the "Harriet" between 1819 and 1820 at St Austell, Cornwall. He witnessed the marriage of Benjamin CARVOSSO and Deborah BANKS on 5 Oct 1819 at Parish Church, St Austell, Cornwall. He was a witness to the day of departure from Charlestown of Deborah BANKS and Benjamin CARVOSSO on 8 Oct 1819. He was a ship owner in 1823 at Charlestown, Cornwall. He lived in 1825 at No 9 Quay Road, Charlestown. He was a ship owner in 1830 at Charlestown, Cornwall. He wrote a letter to his employer respecting his son becoming his successor on 10 Dec 1839. He died on 7 Feb 1840 at Charlestown, Cornwall, at age 72. He was buried on 12 Feb 1840 at St Austell, Cornwall.
